St. Louis Public Radio and local NPR affiliate, KCUR, covered “Voices of Hope,” an event that highlighted voices of individuals Abide in Love affiliates assisted this past year.
Join Abide in Love Kansas City for a Banned Book Swap as we celebrate the power of diverse voices and stories that challenge us, inspire us, and help us understand one another. Get your $5 tickets to the event hosted at Blip Roasters on Saturday, August 22 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Proceeds support mutual aid efforts for immigrants affected by ICE detentions.
Everyone has gifts to share, and there’s a place for you with Abide in Love Kansas City. Join us for Volunteer Training and learn how you can walk alongside immigrant families with compassion, dignity, and practical support. The training will be hosted at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church (1815 NE Independence Ave., Lee’s Summit, MO) on Wed., August 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided.

Abide in Love Kansas City partnered with other area groups to collect care package items for detained immigrants. Specifically, Abide in Love collected sleep masks, ear plugs, loofahs, travel size lotions, and feminine hygiene products.
Abide in Love Kansas City hosted a fun-filled Trivia Night Fundraiser on July 30 Friends and community members gathered to test their knowledge and enjoy an evening of laughter and friendly competition. We raised $1,800 to support immigrants and families impacted by detention and family separation.
Abide in Love Kansas City partnered with local groups (AIRR, CAC, EJC, and others) to raise funds in an effort to provide emergency assistance to families with loved ones detained by ICE. Funds raised were provided directly to impacted families to cover the cost of utilities, groceries, and other emergency financial needs.
